About The Artist

Nobody is more surprised than I am that others consider me an “artist”! I am, in reality, 76-year-old mother of 4 and grandmother of 6 who decided to take an online charcoal drawing class during Covid lockdown for “something to do”. Though I have always seen things through a vague “artistic eye” there was no hint of any talent when I tried to draw or paint anything. 

But taking the drawing class with a very patient and kind instructor made me realize that I could see things “artistically”, but I didn’t know how to use the tools. Shading, dimension, the different kinds of charcoal pencils, how to layer the amount of color applied in different layers were all new concepts to me and I loved learning every bit of it. After being declared a “graduate” of the program May of 2023 I decided to try colored pencils and then recently switched to pastels. They have become my new passion.
